Marques de Branciforte, Guiniguada 1899

It's an honor for me to share with you this project. With a couple months in the making, dozens of discardeds ideas and a lot of research I'm glad to present you Marqués de Branciforte, a fan concept HUNT SHOWDOWN project. At the beggining I started to work on this looking to make some keyframes about an story I was cooking to add part of my canary heritage to the lore. The plot was set in San Antonio, Texas and it was more closer to a comic than the final result you can see here. As I said, this was cancelled, but most of the kitbash I made remained. Around June April-June the gun skins series were made, still thinking about this project, the environment were placed in my island and the scope dramatically reduced. One compound, one main building... (some would say it's still a lot) All this journey ends here in this post and the next one, which will be posted in a few days. I personally had a BLAST working on it! Took a lot of colaboration with other artists and even HUNT SHOWDOWN pro players, shotout to Deadman, A Very Flamboyant Horse and all the people from the HUNTER'S LODGE COMUNITY for the support and ideas. Also my friends José Ramirez, Rodrigo Castaneda and Valentina Pantaleoni for the feedback and guidance.

Since this project is not only concept art but also level design, I learned a lot from letting go the idea of balance. For a long time I tried to acomodate many game styles for this map but as many times, less is more. I think if I had to play in this compound, I would go with Cadwell Rival, Lebel Marksman or bomblance. The whole place is built with the idea of shotguns vs snipers but there's some ways where an old fashioned harpooner can sneak through and potentially fight gunpowder with melee combat. I'm super pasionate about HUNT SHOWDOWN as you might have noticed already!

So what about a piece of Lore? here you go!! The alisian winds carried the news all across the Atlantic Ocean; corruption is emerging across the sea. Greed and evil fester in the hearts of men, and now dark blood pumps from the land, between the volcanic rocks that cover the soil of a little island off the shores of Africa. The American Hunters Association (AHA) heard about this incident from an informant on Nantucket Island. Something about some old and outdated whaling ships that a rich Spanish marquis bought, God knows why... we get oil from the ground these days! Blackfish is no longer useful to us. But there's more; the fellow also mentioned that most people from nearby towns were dying from some kind of untreatable sickness, and something screamed under the ground, as clear as day. Could this be the work of the Sculptor? Could it be something else? Whatever it is, hunters have been prowling the area like hungry wolves, looking for the source of this nightmare... and the dumbest rich guy to buy their tokens.

This project is a love letter to HUNT SHOWDOWN, the sea, all the islanders from this planet and the western movies I watched with my grandpa as a kid.
